Spotted / Elk, CA / Harbor House Inn
Introducing the newly opened Harbor House Inn situated along the rustic Pacific Coast in Mendocino. After a three year restoration, Harbor House is ready to welcome guests to experience its beautifully appointed rooms and cottages, picturesque gardens, private beach and fine dining restaurant. Both the inn and restaurant are under the direction of chef Matthew Krammer, formerly of SF’s Saison and other esteemed Michelin-starred restaurants around the globe.
Each of the nine rooms and cottages features a mix of classic and antique furnishings and other thoughtful amenities. A few include clawfoot tubs and decks looking out towards the ocean.
The main house has a great room with a cozy fireplace as well as the restaurant. Breakfast is provided to overnight guests and the 25-seat dinner experience is available Thursday to Monday from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Dinner typically begins with bubbly and a sunset view on the deck.
The six to twelve course dinner tasting menu includes delicious bites of seasonal produce, seafoods and meats—all ingredients that are grown onsite, foraged or sourced locally. Each course is paired with hand crafted and sustainable wines from small producers in the region. The four-person kitchen makes everything in-house, from butters to vinegars to naturally leavened breads.
Dinner reservations can be made on Resy.
And a stroll through the gardens and down to the black sand beach is a must. You’ll encounter a secret waterfall and other gems along the way. If you’re looking for a quaint and tasty getaway, the Harbor House Inn is a perfect place to escape to.
