Spotted SF / Potrero / The Morris
A warm, inviting neighborhood spot with some real solid, tasty comforting dishes. It is all about flavor at The Morris and I can say my first meal here was truly exceptional. We’re talking a half-pound, 29-day aged, juicy beef burger (with super crisp whole fingerling fries) and a smoked duck noodle soup in the savoriest habanero duck broth. (I heard the whole duck is one of the top signature dishes and I’m saving that for my next visit.) The team includes founder + master sommelier, Paul Einbund + chef Gavin Schmidt, who hail from local favorite restaurants Frances and Coi. You’ll find The Morris tucked along a quiet street in the Potrero Flats occupying the space formerly known as Slow Club. Whatever you decide to order here, save room for donuts: mini buckwheats with whiskey crème anglaise. Perfect way to end your meal.
And if wine tasting is of interest, sign up for their newsletter online for announcements on events. Mr. Einbund hosts a series of these and they are very lively, entertaining and educating.
