Spotted SF / Outer Richmond / Fiorella
Venture to the Outer Richmond for lunch or dinner at Italian eatery and enoteca, Fiorella, a quaint, new spot serving a seasonal variety of fresh pasta, wood-fired pizzas and antipasti. Owner Boris Nemchenok (of Uva Enoteca and formerly of OTTO in NYC) grew up in the neighborhood and Chef-Partner Brandon Gillis (of franny’s in Brooklyn) and Chef de Cuisine Gavin Braid (of Park Tavern and Mikkeller Bar) live in the area, too. Everything was delicious—especially the octopus and the “Alamo” pie (tomato, mushroom, rosemary, cream, garlic and provolone piccante). Even better, a $1 from every Alamo sold is donated to fund art programs at local Alamo Elementary School. Owner Boris wanted to find a way to support the community and will be working with local schools throughout the year. Also in the theme of local, get a closeup of the custom wallpaper featuring Bay Area icons by local artist Matt Richie. Think Alice Waters, Joe Montana, Humpty Hump, The Painted Ladies and BART amongst many others.
