Spotted SF / Dogpatch / Sutton Cellars
Last post of the year before I power down for the holidays. But if you find yourself in the city’s Dogpatch, be sure to pop in for a $10 tasting at this cool warehouse winery known as Sutton Cellars just off 3rd Street and 22nd. You’ll try four unique varieties produced by winemaker, Carl, who has been making year-round wines since 1996. First will be the “Sutton & Soda”, a very refreshing vermouth infused drink to kick things off, followed by a few others. During my tasting I sampled his rosé, his jug blend and a mulled-wine so perfect for the holidays. I took a bottle of this home with me. The jug blend is a house red that changes monthly and is available in a one liter, half-gallon and one-gallon refillable growler.
The tasting room is open Thursday and Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM and on weekends from noon to 5:00 PM.
