Spotted / Guerneville, CA / Boon Hotel + Spa
This week I’ll be posting a few spots from a recent trip to the Russian River area just 75 miles north of San Francisco.
In the artsy and entertaining little town of Guerneville, you’ll find this restful retreat known as the Boon Hotel + Spa. Nestled among the giant redwoods (and some palm trees), this simple and modern boutique property offers a small number of well designed guest rooms, three tent cabins, a pool and a mini spa. It’s a quiet place for adults to escape to in this wine + activity filled region. During my visit I “glamped” in one of the tents, as these are only available from the Memorial to Labor Day weekends. They offer the same luxuries as the rooms, but have shared bath facilities. Other amenities on the property include complimentary bikes you can take to explore around, an honor bar by the pool for cold refreshments, and a delicious breakfast brought to your door each morning. They also have a garden + chickens on site. And the sweet mutt you may see running around, laying by the pool or greeting you…that’s Boon.
The hotel is a short 10 minute walk to the shops and eateries along Main Street. The owner of Boon, Christa, also owns Boon Eat + Drink, Big Bottom Market and El Barrio in the heart of town. So in addition to lodging, she’s also got your meals and drinks covered.
