Yesterday I had a chance to preview a lively new collection and I’m quite excited to share it with you.

Starting today, Heath Ceramics is hosting a month-long exhibit and pop-up entitled Alabama on Alabama. The gallery in the Boiler Room provides a glimpse into the modern South with works by renowned textile artist and designer Natalie Chanin (owner and creative force behind Alabama Chanin), mixed media art by Butch Anthony, folk drawings by John Henry Toney, and photography by Rinne Allen. Inside the showroom you’ll find hand-dyed indigo garments, table linens, quilts and pillows by Alabama Chanin + a selection of Southern favorites from Natalie’s fellow maker friends, including marmalade with whiskey, smoky hot BBQ sauces, bourbon salts, cocktail mixers and a selection of record albums. Additionally new pieces have been designed and added to the Alabama Chanin x Heath Ceramics dinnerware collection.

There are several events scheduled over the next month, including tonight’s opening celebration, a trunk show with exclusive pieces and a combined talk + workshop. The latter two provide opportunities to personally meet Natalie Chanin. To find out more and to register, click here.

Alabama on Alabama runs from July 24th to August 23rd.
