Spotted / Amador City, CA / Imperial Hotel
This historic hotel in the heart of Gold Country has provided guests with warm hospitality and accommodations since 1879. On my second visit to the region during the holidays, I stayed here with my family. It was such a perfect and quiet spot to settle into + it had the convenience of a bar and restaurant on site. And darling antique shops, a wine tasting room and a delicious bakery were just steps away. There are six rooms available in the main brick house and three more suites in the cottage up the road. Rooms #1 and #2 are the favorites, as they have the balcony view overlooking the town. The photos above are from # 1, my room. I’m looking forward to a return visit in the spring time when the leaves are green again and the flowers are in bloom. The back patio will be perfect for dining al fresco then.
Note: If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also climb up the hill behind the hotel to see one of the old cemeteries from the Gold Rush days.
