Spotted / Sutter Creek, CA / Hotel Sutter
This week I’ll be sharing some gems I discovered on a recent trip to Sutter Creek. This charming little town is located along Highway 49 in historical Gold Country just a few hours from San Francisco. Old brick buildings, antique shops and restaurants line up Main Street, including the Hotel Sutter where I stayed during my visit. The hotel, which was originally established in 1858 under a different name, now includes 21 uniquely decorated rooms with private baths, a restaurant, a lobby bar + a balcony bar overlooking Main Street, and a Cellar for evening cocktails and live performances. This was a great base, as there were so many fun things to explore within stumbling distance and all the other treasured towns of Amador County (Amador City, Plymouth, Volcano, etc.)—including plenty of wineries—were just a short drive away.
I’ll be featuring some of my favorite spots in Sutter Creek over the next few days, then will be sharing even more from other parts of Amador County as I will be returning for another visit in the coming weeks.
