Spotted / Brooklyn, NY / Urban Cowboy
This week I’ll be sharing some fun spots I discovered while in New York a couple of months ago. First up is Urban Cowboy, a converted townhouse now B&B in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. Owner Lyon Porter initially had plans to renovate and rent out apartments, but instead decided to create a more communal space for short-term occupancy. He designed his dream house and opened it up for folks to enjoy when they’re in the city. The rustic-chic decor was just up my alley and the amenities were perfect: big open living spaces and kitchen, dining area, front porch + rear yard, and garage doors that lift to let in fresh air and sunlight. There are four bedrooms in the main house and a cabin out back. I stayed in the Vision Quest room on the second floor—it felt just like my very own at home. I was curious to see what the cabin was like, but it was occupied. Maybe next time. This B&B is a great option if you’re seeking a quiet, comfy and cool place to crash the next time you’re in Brooklyn. All the best of Williamsburg is a short stumble away.
