Spotted / Big Sur, CA / Treebones Resort
I’ve been doing a few weekend escapes lately so thought I’d share some of them with you throughout this month. This here is the magnificent Treebones Resort overlooking the Pacific just off Highway 1 in Big Sur. There are a number of yurts, campsites and a human nest available for an intimate couple or small group getaway. If you choose the more glamping experience with a yurt I recommend you snag one with an oceanfront view, as there is nothing more magical than basking in that golden glow at the sunset hour. I also encourage you to book early, as accommodations go quickly. I booked my yurt last April, in fact. You can always reserve now and cancel later if you decide to.
The inside of the yurt is very spacious and warm; each comes with its own sink and heating stove. Restrooms and showers are just steps away right by the main house. There you’ll find the pool and hot tub, lounge, gift shop, restaurant and my favorite part: the oceanview sushi bar. They use fresh, local, and sustainable fish and are open most days from 5:30-8:30 pm. You can dine inside around the counter or have everything brought out to you on the deck. Again everything is spectacular at sunset here.
