While out in Los Angeles a couple of weekends ago, I discovered a number of wonderful spots which I’ll be sharing all week long on the site. I’d love to begin with the fun new Ace Hotel where I camped out during my visit. Located downtown in the former United Artists Building, this new addition includes over 180 rooms styled in the cool, laid-back standard that Ace is known for, a bar + terrace + pool on the roof, a coffee counter + photo booth + retail shop in the lobby, a juice bar in a ticket window, plus an adjoining restaurant, L.A. Chapter—which I’ll be featuring more of tomorrow. I absolutely enjoyed the comfort and service extended at this property, but what drew me most to the Ace is the allure of the neighborhood. It is full of amazing architecture and is vibrant with culture and creativity. I was beyond thrilled to see my first Banksy in the parking lot right across from the hotel! Would love to stay here when I’m in L.A. again. With the Fashion, Pinata and Arts Districts closeby, there’s so much I still have yet to explore around here.
