Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have some fun weekend plans in the works. I’m spending mine in Oakland to celebrate the launch of something really exciting and then gearing up to leave for vacation.
Every now and then I’ve decided to share some terrific upcoming events and today I’d love to tell you about two of them: This is Oakland + Akio’s Coming Back to Heath!
This is Oakland
Join the street party tomorrow in historic Old Oakland to celebrate the launch of that book I’ve been raving about: This is Oakland. Many of the shops and vendors featured in the book are lining up for a fun afternoon of shopping, eating and entertainment.
You can get more details and register here.

Akio Nukaga at Heath Ceramics
Master potter Akio Nukaga returns to Heath Ceramics to feature a collection of his latest work beginning July 11th. I’m a huge fan of his and even stopped by the studio a few years ago to see him at his wheel as he transformed a ball of clay into complete teapot. I was so amazed by the lines and the forms of that piece, I ended buying one of his teapots that day. Now I need some other pieces to go with it and luckily I get back in time to see what new work he brings.
More to come, but you can also check out Heath’s site as more details are announced.
