Spotted / New York City / The Butcher’s Daughter
* I just got back from another week in NYC, so I’ll be posting some great NYC spots all week long. *
This is a cafe and juice bar I’ve been meaning to try in NYC for some time and I finally had a chance to stop in during this recent trip. I like my meats and all, but I love me some fresh fruits and veggies even more. One half of this cheery space serves as the cafe; the other side a market. Tasty all-vegetarian and non-dairy dishes are served throughout the day + fresh juices can be ordered in-house or available in bottles to-go. I ordered the Honey Bee (grapefruit, tumeric root, yuzu kumquat, pear, honey, bee pollen) with my meal, then ended up taking a bottled Water Flower (watermelon, fennel, honeydew, cactus pear, lime, lavender flower) along with me as I continued exploring the city that day. OK I may not know what half those ingredients are, but I can say that combined, the juice blends were so light, fruity and really refreshing. And now that I’m home, I’m definitely going to try and re-create the smashed avocado toast I enjoyed for breakfast there.
I’m surely making this spot a part of my regular NYC ritual and look forward to heading back in a few weeks.
