Spotted SF / Inner Richmond / Heartbaker
Recently discovered this cool new bakeshop as I was out in the Inner Richmond. Such a large assortment of lovely and yummy sweets to choose from + some savory offerings for lunch and dinner, too.
When you walk into the space, you’ll notice some fun photos along the walls of folks wearing all kinds of dessert masks. While Sybil the owner (formerly of Aqua, Kokkari and Fairmont Hotel) was out delivering a cake, I had the pleasure of meeting her dear father and business partner, Mike. He even brought out from the freezer the meringue mask (worn in one of the wall photos) for me to see up close and photograph. So tempted to take a bite out of it, but instead I happily devoured the chocolate banana coconut bread pudding + a bacon mushroom gorgonzola quiche.

I am in awe of your blog! It it was I aspire to do with my “weekend guide” section. Such an inspiration ❤
Thanks for your sweet note, Niki! Glad you found a little bit of inspiration. SF has so many great places. It’s always fun discovering new things around the city.

Oh, those light fixtures make my heart melt! I would go just to gaze at the interior design. But I may also try that dessert with the creamy sauce poured over the top. Looks yummy!!
I’m definitely going back to try that dessert, too:)
I live above Heartbaker. Your photos capture it perfectly. Well done.
Thanks Mark! Right above??? Dangerous and yummy:)
I think I might be in the area today! I have to go here! What are those little chocolate cakes with the chocolate center? Looks sooooo good! I hope they taste as good as your pictures look. You’re making my mouth water.
Hi! Did you make it after all?
Unfortunately, no. 😦 But the next time I’m in the area, you know where I’ll be heading!
After staying in apartments in Hayes Valley, NOPA and Noe Valley (twice) in the past three years, we are thinking of renting in this neighbourhood next April. This is certainly a selling point!
Inner Richmond is fun…and foggy:) Lots of great, cheap eats, too. I love it. I grew up in this neighborhood, but have hopped around the city and lived in other parts, too.
