Spotted SF / Financial District / Biscuit Bender
Finally a place dedicated to another kind of buttery goodness: biscuits! Located inside the Ferry Building, this charming little stand has baskets and displays full of fresh buttermilk varieties, both sweet and savory. I picked up a few, including a good ol’ fashioned buttermilk, a ham and cheese, and the cinnamon roll version. The first two had a nice crumbly outside with a moist and a buttery inside, while the last had the texture and consistency of a scone. And I liked each one! Plus you can pick up single servings of flavored butters, jams and condiments to go along with them. I even had these for breakfast the next day and they were still really good.

OMG, I just discovered this adorable place on my Pastry Crawl too! I tried the buttermilk and cinnamon roll too (my favorite)… as well as the cheddar, lemon-poppyseed, Mexican Chocolate, and a strawberry cobbler-ish one! I agree, how cool and unique that we have a *biscuit* bakery– I’ve never seen that before. What a fabulous food city we have, right?! 😀
Everyday I am thankful for your blog. I can’t believe I have lived next to SF all my life, and am now discovering all these amazing places through you. Thank you so much! I can’t imagine never knowing about this buttery biscuit haven!
