Spotted / Montreal / Wilensky

I heard about Wilensky and actually ran out of time in Montreal to stop in. But as I was making my way to Fairmount to buy bagels before heading to the airport, I surprisingly bumped right into it. It’s been family-owned for 80 years and probably still looks just as it did back then with it’s tin ceilings, ring-up cash register, old-fashioned soda fountain, and vintage signs. They’re known for the “Wilensky” special – a grilled bologna, salami, cheese, and mustard sandwich in a bun. Ironically I was down to my very last 5 Canadian dollars – and the sandwich cost me exactly $4.99. I even got one American penny back. It was fate and it was tasty.
